agilebrit: (Tony Stark--Anteaters)
Three to six months???

REALLY? That's all the time they take for PTSD treatment?

...

REALLY???

I find myself somewhat gobsmacked by that. And I guess they don't mean that the person would be "all better" by then, but...damn.

And I'm thinking not!Harry would take much longer than that, because (a)he won't take the drugs, and (b)the bad guys had him for a good long while and addicted him to heroin. Multiple times.

But this makes me wonder if I shouldn't, perhaps, move my timeline a bit so his captivity in Afghanistan happened eighteen months or two years ago instead of three years ago...

Yeah, remember what I said about PTSD not being "sexy"?

Except I realized today that it totally is. For a certain value of "sexy."

Not!Harry is Broken. With a capital B.

And that makes me want to cuddle him like whoa.

I have a bleeding and shirtless Sherlock Holmes on my desktop. Having read the script, I know exactly why he is shirtless and bleeding, and guess what? He's...kind of broken too.

I'm in the "chicks dig scars" camp. And the scars can be mental or physical. And, yes, I realize that the mental scars are no fun to deal with IRL and can wear you out like nobody's business.

Would I personally want to deal with those scars with a real person on a day-to-day basis? Eh, probably not.

However, in fiction? Ohyesplzgivememoreofthat.

Yeah, I don't even know. Consult the tags.

Oh, not!Harry.

Okay. The Freakout in the Shower Scene is complete.

And now not!Harmony can have a little freakout of her own. Because not!Harry has a whole new trigger, and the poor guy is self-aware enough to know that, while avoiding needles and getting tied up is possible (most of the time), he has to shower. And they got through this one, barely, but the next one isn't going to be easy.

And I have to remember that this isn't the only shower he takes in the story, because he ends up covered in blood that is and isn't his on more than one occasion here, and now I'm going to have to take this into account.

So, way to go, [livejournal.com profile] agilebrit. You just complicated your life. *headdesks*

If [livejournal.com profile] difrancis has a Snippet Saturday tomorrow, I'll post something. And if she doesn't, I'll post something anyway.
