Yeah, I know, multiple exclamation points are a sign of a diseased mind. And I suppose that, for the most part, my eBay experience has been so excellent as to make this not worth mentioning--especially when I read the horror stories on the Bidding Board and the other boards about Transactions Gone Bad. And $7 is a paltry amount to get upset over.

That being said...I found a hardback copy of "Carpe Jugulum" on eBay for a Buy it Now price of $3.75, plus $3.25 shipping. And since I'm on a big Pratchett kick right now, I grabbed it and paid for it immediately. Haven't heard anything from the seller, and I thought all was well. Until I checked my Paypal account and found that they'd refunded the payment, with a little note saying "Unable to find in inventory." And of course, my payment came from my checking account that I set up specially for Paypal, and it hasn't cleared yet, so I've got $7 floating around out there in cyberspace that I can't use to buy another book. And if I wanted to put it back in my checking account so I could use it on ABE instead, then it would probably take another week to clear, because it's a holiday weekend.

You know, if you don't have the widget physically in your possession, then don't put it up on eBay! They've left me positive feedback (gee, thanks! I'd rather have the frelling book, if it's all the same to you). I probably won't leave feedback at all and just make them sweat and wonder if they're going to get hit with a neg 90 days out. That will be my petty revenge. Mwahah! Mwahahaha!! Mwahahahahaahaaaaa!!! (Yes, I'm writing out maniacal laughter.)

*grumbles and goes hunting more books*

We went to the theater to see "Christmas with the Kranks" and "National Treasure." The critics are apparently hating them both. Ignore them; they're idiots.
