Random musings....
Feb. 16th, 2004 04:50 pmWent and saw "Miracle" today, about our victory in the 1980 Winter Olympics over the Soviet hockey team. Brought back some interesting memories, since I was in 11th grade when that happened. I remember the gas lines, the Iranian hostage crisis, double-digit inflation, unemployment, and interest rates. And the movie pointed up very very well why that was more than a hockey game. Go see it.
And now...another rant. This time, brought on by a reviewer. Got this for my "Indispensable, Exquisite Cats" fic: It's a well written story, even though I'm not a fan of betrayals. But I don't like the ending, mainly because it's yet another person telling Buffy what to do. I mean it's fine if Spike's over Buffy, but the way he told her he's ripe for a staking. Or her ripping his head off.
Uh....another person telling Buffy what to do? The last time Spike saw Buffy and Angel together, they were kissing. I think it would be a natural assumption on his part that she would go to Angel if Spike told her to get lost. Also, ripe for a staking? He's drunk, and Buffy's across an ocean. That would have to be an awful big "mad" for her to be in to get on a plane just to stake him.
Sometimes I wonder if people are watching the same show I am.
