I've put a "finis" at the bottom of the last page of the DamnFic. Poked and prodded and made it somewhat readable and (I hope) realistic. It comes to just about 4500 words and nine pages--which, whoa. I wouldn't have thunk, on (looks it up) Sept 29, when I started this, that it would go here and have this many words...but it did and it does. And it's SUCH a relief to have it out of my system. Holy cow.

I'm going to have to write something fluffy after this. Something Spred, or maybe that Beagle smuggling fic I have a plot bunny (heh) for. And yes, plot bunnies with Beagles are funny if you're a dog person. I'd like to do a Spred, though; I miss them.

Anyways. *wibbles* I've had a female friend look at the DamnFic. *smooches her* I've had a guy look at it. *gives him a platonic hug* They both say it's pretty much okay. I'm just wondering if anyone else out there wants to read a fic where Kaylee gets raped and Jayne reacts to it, or if I should just let the thing languish on my hard drive. I don't hate it myownself, and believe me, I did at first.

Of course...it needs a title. Heh.

That's not an entirely uncommon scenario in Jaylee-fan land. And your writing? Of course we want to see it. (Okay, so I don't comment on your stuff as often as I should, but er, some pairings I don't read and...::flails in self-justification::)

That does sound dark. I personally would think the equation is pretty simple: Kaylee Gets Raped = Jayne + Damn Big Knife + Rapist + Lots of Scary Pain.

*laughs* Well, it's not quite that simple. It's a bit more psychological than that, and he doesn't have time to do much of anything except pulp some heads with a rifle butt before they make their dramatic escape. This fic deals with his essential helplessness when faced with this situation--he's a man of action, and there's no possible way he can make this "all better" for her, no matter how much he wants to.
