The Kitten!Cuddler!JayneFic is as done as I can make it. And I've discovered this neat thing where I can C&P it into NotePad and save it as an HTML doc instead of "publishing" it to HTML in WordPerfect. Dude. So much easier, especially since I tend to write in HTML anyway. So I'll probably post it here and let you guys tear into it before it goes up on FFN. Don't you feel special? My own personal guinea pigs...

Note to nodrogg: When you critique this thing, keep in mind that it's 1st person, Jayne's POV--and grammar goes out the window. But he's got a pretty distinct "voice," and I hope I've captured that. I'm still thinking about whether to post it at crit_sans_lube, because it's really fandom-specific as far as the POV goes. Not sure how many Firefly fans are on that particular board.

I made it a point this week to enter every icontest in every comm I'm a member of--which is thirteen. And I've discovered a distinct preference to do icons based on a theme or idea or quote rather than a screencap.

You're using WordPerfect?

I didn't even know that product still existed. If you told me you were using WordStar or Speedscript I would not be more surprised.

But not derisive; I write with MS Word 2.0, from 1992 (based on Windows 3.1!), and I still have Speedscript on the computer in the other room -- that is, on my Commodore 64...

WordPerfect 11, to be precise. Which I don't like as well as I liked WP 7. Alas, WP7 doesn't work with XP, so I had to upgrade.

This is the first thing I've finished since the other thing I posted. I'm a slow writer. 2500 lousy words for a plot bunny that bit me clear back on the 30th of June? Argh. Time was, I would have finished something like this in two or three days...
