So, I took some of my duplicate "Famous Horse Stories" books to one of the local used bookstores, hoping to get some extra walking-around money...and they didn't want a single one of them. They're not in awful condition, in fact for their age they're in awesome condition, but they don't have the dust jackets. *sigh* He offered me a buck in store credit for my duplicate ERB John Carter books. [deadpan] Whee.

So...I'm debating putting them up on eBay. That won't help me with my immediate cash flow problem, however. Which means I'll be pulling money out of the anteater for my train ride tomorrow so I can go to the Firefly Meetup, and a Caramel Macchiato at Starbucks is right out, unless I have a particularly weak moment and want to pay for it with change. Woe.

  • Two copies of "Wild Palomino" by Stephen Holt, no dust jacket, both in v. good condition
  • "Phantom Roan," also by Stephen Holt, ex lib, usual stamps, tape and stuff. This one has the dust jacket, which is protected in a mylar cover.
  • "Mountain Pony" by Henry Larom, in v. good condition, some writing on the end papers and the first page, and places on the end papers where tape was removed
  • "Hoofbeats" by John Taintor Foote, in v. good condition, owner's name in pencil on the front paper and a 1" scribble in what looks like green marker on the front endpaper
  • "The Sorrel Stallion" by David Grew in v. good condition with no writing in it anywhere I can find
  • "Indian Paint" by Glenn Balch, ex-lib, the pocket has been removed and there's some black marker marks on the front endpaper where someone crossed out the library marks, along with some writing and similar markings on the title page. It's also shelf-worn a bit. This one has the picture cover.

These are all classics and would make a fine addition to anyone wanting old horse books. But I'm probably the only one on my flist who collects such a silly thing for a grown woman. That being said, I'll sell them to anyone on my flist in the US for $10 each, media rate shipping included. Just sing out if you want any of them.

*wanders off mumbling to go torture some poor character who hasn't done anything to me*
