First things first. The 2006 WriterCon archives are open for business, thanks to the lovely and effulgent [livejournal.com profile] chrisleeoctaves. I've written 27 fics this year. I've pared the choices down to six that I'd consider sending to her. So, I put it to you, my lovely and effulgent flist:

Which fic should I send to the 2006 WriterCon archive?
Solid State
Black Market Beagles
Partners in Crime
Helpless
Survivor's Guilt
Cerberus

Linkage, for those folks who've forgotten the fics:
Solid State, an Angel S5 AU where Spike's corporeality was only temporary.

Black Market Beagles, a fic where the Serenity crew smuggle Beagles, and hijinks, as they say, ensue.

Partners in Crime, wherein Kaylee smuggles a kitten aboard the ship, and it immediately starts making Jayne's life miserable.

Helpless, which is either one of the best things I've ever written or one of the worst, in which Kaylee and Jayne are captured, she gets raped, and he gets to deal with it. I'm not sure I want to be remembered as "the person who wrote that rapefic," though, so I'm really on the fence about even including this one on the list.

Survivor's Guilt, in which Angel, Spike, and Illyria survive NFA, Illyria takes Spike as her mate, and Angel gets his Shanshu.

Cerberus, in which Niska captures Jayne and River and tortures Jayne for awhile. This is the one where I AU'd my own fic and wrote an alternate ending and an alternate middle for.

In other news, we're heading to the DFW area on the 5th to see the family; this will be our holiday trip. We're going to drive, take the PT, and stay in a hotel in Bedford.

Also, my child? Is brilliant. We were going to bribe him with cookies last night to see if he could spell "cat" with his magnetic letters, but he was missing the "C"--so we told him to find the letter up in his room the next morning. He found his missing letters, and the next morning the Hubby's sitting there at his computer with his coffee, and Da Boy says "Cat." And the Hubby says, yes, we have two. "No, CAT," Da Boy insists...and then the Hubby sees that he's got the letters for "cat" in his hand. He also spelled "hat," "sat," "pat," "rat," and a few other "at" words that we've been working on, so apparently our little lessons are sinking in. That's a YAY in my book. *grin*

Writing? I'm not, really. However, I have shiny icons! Which I will post, um, later. I did manage to find an anthropomorphic personification my Muse, however. *points to icon I will now use whenever I whine about writing* I know [livejournal.com profile] kantayra will like him.
