And the Terri Schiavo saga continues...

Holy cow. Makes me wonder what her so-called husband has on the judge, to get him to make a ruling like this:
Terri Schiavo's parents back in court trying to save her life.
This is the part that blows me away:
Greer denied a motion filed Monday asking that the Schindlers be allowed to feed their daughter by mouth after artificial feedings stop.
Seriously, WTF? The judge has just basically given this woman, who has committed the heinous crime of being inconvenient to her abusive, adulterous husband, a death sentence. What in the world justifies something like this? They can't even try to feed her after they take out the damb tube? Why the hell not? More information here.
Oh, at least he's allowing them to bring in a priest to administer Last Rites to her. How big of him.

Date: 2005-03-09 01:12 am (UTC)Yes, Terri would not have a normal life ever again, most likely. But she is still a human being, she's not a vegetable. I think I remember reading somewhere that she can talk some??
Anyway, even if I was okay with letting her "rest in peace," starving her to death is cruel and inhumane. It's evil to remove a feeding tube and make someone slowly die from starvation over a period of days (I don't know exactly how long it'd take, but it isn't quick, that's for sure).
Terri's husband disgusts me.

Date: 2005-03-09 01:18 am (UTC)This whole thing is appalling to me. Her husband wants her dead, no question, and stands to gain financially, more so the sooner she dies. He's been living with another woman for over eight years, has two children by her, and plans to marry her as soon as Terri dies. He's denied her the physical therapy that might have made it possible for the feeding tube to be removed so she could eat normally. It's entirely possible that he himself is responsible for her condition--but he's denied permission for bone scans that might show that she was an abuse victim, and is going to have her cremated.
Dude's a creep. I can't believe that another woman is dumb enough to hook up with him...Hope she doesn't become "inconvenient" too.
