Da Boy has this new thing where he sometimes leaves his underwear in the bathroom, comes out, and asks for a diaper. I think it's Boy-Code for "I'm tired and I want to go to bed" (because the only time he wears a diaper anymore is either when we go out or when he goes to bed)--but when I tell him "All right, but you're going to bed" he goes ballistic. What a little weirdo.
blender.com (whoever they are) has a list of the 50 worst songs ever. "We Built This City" by Starship is the one they rank as the very worst one. And my reaction to that was "Uh???" That's worse than "Take the Money And Run," by the venerable Steve Miller Band--a song that is under the mistaken notion that "hassle" rhymes with "El Paso;" that "Texas," "taxes," and "what the facts is" are remotely rhymable; and attempts to make us root for a couple of amoral stoned teenagers on a robbery and killing spree. I don't think so.
I've started reading "The Hobbit." The last time I read it was in high school--which, if you'll look at my info page, was a very long time ago. It's a rip-roaring great book. And much easier to get through than "The Silmarillion," which I am slowly but surely plowing my way through as well.
Terry Pratchett is a wonderful writer with a strange sense of humor. Which is why I'm going to buy all the Discworld books I can get my hands on. Just what I needed. Another author to get hooked on. It's not like I don't have 30 books on my dog list to get, 20 on my horse list, plus the 20 or so other authors I follow around like a lost puppy.
ETA: I finished Chapter 3 of the Pottage Monster today. It's not quite as long as the other chapters, but that's the spot the Muse told me to end it, and who am I to argue? On to Chapter 4!
