What a day this has been....

agilebritSo...the NASCAR 3D movie is coming to the IMAX at our local planetarium, so I decided to do a dry run up there so I can surprise The Hubby when it gets here. They're showing this thing called "Bugs! 3D" right now, so I decided to take Da Boy and see it.
Got there okay. Found a parking space with no problems. Went to the planetarium and got the tickets for the Bug Movie. And that's when the fun began. I left plenty of time (so I thought) for us to get something to eat beforehand, so we went to a sports grill there at the Plaza and I ordered an overpriced hamburger for me and an overpriced chicken fingers meal for Da Boy. And we waited. And waited. And waited. Turns out there was a big party there at the same time, and the kitchen was really backed up. So, time is ticking away....
Finally, 20 minutes before we needed to leave, our food got there. And it was delicious. And on the plus side, since I ordered from the 15-minute menu, my meal was free. Also, they had all kinds of sports going on all kinds of TV screens...except the Speed Channel. I made a request to the waitress--and she got one of the TVs switched over for us. [big grin] So that was cool. I tipped her well.
Oh, and they were playing a NASCAR Truck race, and there was a truck in the pits--Da Boy points to it and says "Dodge!" And he was right. [shaking head] Don't know what cue he picked up on (probably the grille), but I find that pretty amazing.
Snarfed the food down, and practically ran to the planetarium. Got some popcorn and a drink and our 3D glasses, went into the theater, found a seat. Movie starts, and all is fine....
Until the first bug appears onscreen. I guess a fifty-foot millipede crawling in his lap (the 3D was quite good) was just too much for Da Boy, and he totally freaked. We had to leave. Fortunately, management was kind, and they gave me a pass so I can come back later. And I will, because what I saw was totally cool. I bought him a Matchbox race car in the gift shop, because he was so traumatized and I felt bad for him. I know, I'm a big softie. Sue me.
On the way home, my little Mazda MX3 turned 100,000. Awww.
And tonight, playing MahJong on YaHoo Games, I made it to round 18 and scored a personal best of 160,279.
[wiping brow] Can I rest now?
Heh. Guess not. [staring at fic] Fine, fine. I know. I have a battle scene to write. Whee.
