Fox, in its infinite wisdom, has cancelled "Wonderfalls" after airing four episodes. Yo, network execs: Put the crack pipes down. You stick it in the Friday Time Slot of Death, and then move it to Thursdays opposite CSI and "The Apprentice"? Exactly what did you expect? Have you forgotten the fawning reviews that you have on the homepage of the show? Let me refresh your memory:

SF Chronicle: Arguably the best network drama.
Newsday: Spectacularly charming.
Vogue: A strange and wonderful place.

It's fun being too smart for network television. Really. It's a complete blast being totally bored and/or repulsed by fare such as "The Littlest Groom" or "The Swan" (also known as "Franken-Models"--props to The Hubby for that designation). I now have two (count 'em!) shows I'll be watching on a regular basis--and neither is scintillating TV. "The Jamie Kennedy Experiment" is mindless drivel that makes me laugh anyway, and "Cops" is generally a poignant reminder of the crap that our law enforcement officers put up with every day.

There are other shows I'd like to watch, but haven't been in on from the beginning...such as Joan of Arcadia and Tru Calling. But you know what? I'm about to the point where I'm not willing to take a chance on any new shows, because if I like it, then chances are the network will cancel it.

Phooey.
