Hey, another poll...

So, you know, I don't have enough on my plate, so I thought maybe I'd do another commentary. This time, I'll throw it open to my flist:

What fic should I do commentary on next?

On the fic front, I have actual words now in my CYAficathon story. *grins a bit maniacally* Go me. I may need a beta when it's all said and done with. *wibbles* I've never used one before. I know, I know, I should, and when I have my (published) Mom critique my fics she always has good suggestions, but I have a hard time letting go of my babies, ya know?

Argh.

Aw, I know how you feel about getting a beta. I have yet to have one of my fics betaed (sp?), though they sorely need it. I just can't handle the truth!

It's weird. I don't mind giving them to my mom, because she's, you know, my mom...but she doesn't know anything about the fandom at all, so she can't tell me if the characters are OOC or not.

However, she does help with the mechanics quite a bit. Plot holes, awkward phrasing, etc, she's good at pointing out. She doesn't really want to read fanfic, though (thinks I'm "wasting my time" and should be writing original fic), so I don't send her anything but MustardVerse fics. *evil grin* Hope I don't confuse her too much with the next one.

*argh* If I ever finish it, that is...

See, this is how I felt, when I didn't know any other fic writers. I was like, "Uh, does anyone want to beta this?" And either no one would answer and someone would do it, but I'd never use them again for some reason. So I just started leaving my fics unbetaed. I also find that I don't catch a lot of mistakes in my own stuff - I just overlook it, since I know what it was supposed to be.
