I figured out this morning how I'm going to separate Fred and Illyria for the CYA ficathon.

Remember "The Replacement"? Remember the widget that separated Xander into his component parts? Looked to me like it was the widget, not the demon wielding it, that was the key. So, I'm going to use that.

Whee!

Yup! the Toth was sophisticated b/c he used a tool. Therefore that tool can definitely be reused! And what a great opportunity to do so! love it when a plan comes together! Supportive sqee-age!

Cool idea. How are you going to retcon the soul situation? If you don't know, I have suggestions!

Oh, that's easy. It's always been my contention that Sparrow lied about Fred's soul being destroyed in the fires of Illryia's resurrection, so that they wouldn't try to bring her back, so I'm going with that.

Unless you have a better idea, which I will shamelessly steal. *grin*

Sparrow was definitely full of crap. It was one of ME's more ridiculous plot holes to have NO ONE question Sparrow's claim about the fate of Fred's soul, and to just give up because of the words of one evil, untrustworthy doctor. Made them all look like idiots. *sigh*

Will you post a link in the Spred Community thread when you put up your CYA Spred entry? I'd love to read it!

Sure! LOL It'll probably be crossposted in a lot of places, including here and my profile at FFN. It's not due until the end of March, though, so I won't post it anywhere until then.

What's a widget?

A gadget. A gizmo. A doohickey. A doodad. A thingamabob. A whozit. A whatsit. A whatchamacallit.

Ah, thank you. It all makes perfect sense now. At least, as much sense as a whatchamacallit can make.
