TempCorpFic--Annnnd...my kink rears its ugly head again. This is fic number five where I've either been tempted to have someone feed themselves to a vampire (specifically Spike), or where I've actually done it (twice). In this case, Fred is Spike's "anchor" to being corporeal. Thus far, physical contact has been sufficient to keep him solid. But there's this niggling little thing whispering in my ear: "Blood is life. Makes you other than dead. It's always blood." What's even weirder is that for me, it's not a sexual kink, but an intimacy kink, because in the context where I do these things (or think about doing them), it's not a throat bite, but a wrist bite. I know. I'm weird. *bangs head on desk some more*
In other news, I think I may have figured out how I'm going to break Lilah's contract, but I still need to figure out what Lindsey's Evil Plot is and how it will play out. Hopefully in such a way that Imzadi won't hate me too much. And I'm still not so sure that the first person POV is working for this, but I've gotten so far in it that I'd hate to abandon it now.
New MustardVerse "What If I Stumble" fic--nothing much on that front. It's on the back burner for now, I think, while I wrestle with the TempCorp fic. Need to bring Dru back (without staking her in the end); need to get Spike into an apartment (with the Demon Protection Racket subplot that entails); might need to get him a new dog. Having trouble getting this one off the ground.
NaNo Novel--On the back burner for now. I've got nothin'.
CYA Ficathon fic--Argh. Need to figure out how to separate Fred and Illyria (without killing Illyria, because I like her, dammit). Once I do that, I think it'll flow, but my brain is stalling on that particular aspect.
BlitzFic--
sunnyd_lite requested historical Spike and Dru, in Europe during something famous. I poked through some serial killer sites for awhile, wasn't inspired, and went back to the London Blitz (which she suggested in the first place). And last night, the Hubby gave me a hook to hang it on, but it will require quite a bit of research. Just hope I haven't bitten off more than I can chew with this one. At this point, I'll say that it involves werewolves in London *grin*, and comparing werewolves and vampires to Nazis and Communists, with a whole parellel thing going there. With Spike being a possible mirror to Trotsky.
Um. That sounds really ambitious. Argh.

Date: 2005-02-14 09:05 pm (UTC)To wit: Spike, Fred, the Hyperion, "What if Buffy never got raised from the dead, Spike moved to LA, and Fred offered to get Spike's chip out?" The brain is a scary, scary place...
Tell me your other bite fics, if you wouldn't mind, please...
And regarding Illyria, wouldn't it be interesting if her catsuit wasn't only an outfit, but some kind of skin? Anyone? Bueller? :)

My bitey fics are Soulless, Evil Things, in which part of the challenge was that Buffy had to save Spike (or not, heh) by having him drink her blood; and Reward, which is the first fic I ever wrote, features Christian!Spike and an OC Slayer, and takes place in a 'verse where Spike was the only survivor of the final battle with the First. *hands you a spork* In my defense, I started it about mid-Season Seven and wondered if everyone but Spike was going to die at the end, so that's what I wrote. I'd just started getting into fanfic at the time, too, and didn't know about Mary Sues (I've been told that Mandy isn't one; go me!) or "normal" fanfic writing conventions.
The ones I considered making bitey were Cold Comfort, because Spike was hurt pretty bad and hey, blood of a God-King, right? And Blood Rite, because Spike was drained and pretty feral and needed a meal. I rejected making those two bitey because I was noticing a disturbing (to me) pattern, and it wasn't really necessary to the plots...although it might have been interesting.

Date: 2005-02-15 01:19 am (UTC)Ooh, and historical Spike/Dru! Sounds interesting. I could think of several serial killers they might have been involved with. Or not, since I basically suck at doing research.
you can do it! rah rah rah!!!
Date: 2005-02-15 02:59 am (UTC)on CYA - time travel is weird but heres a thought... Anmya is otherworldly and Illyria is otherworldly... what if presented with the fact that she was about to die and could do that or merge permanently with Illyria and fuse spirits with her, she chose that enw life? And there is one person who could be the bridge of time... the Key to it so to speak...
