Went and saw "Wedding Date" today...

Now, normally, when our local reviewer gives a movie a star and a half (out of four), that means we'll either like it a lot, or it'll really suck. Unfortunately, this time it sucked.
Dudes, if you want to sell a romance, then (a) your stars have to have more chemistry than these two did; (b) you have to have a script that actually works; (c) your pairing really needs to interact more at the beginning of the movie, instead of having your female half sleeping all the way across a trans-Atlantic flight; (d) if there's a major plot point involving a big reveal that the audience is supposed to know but a character doesn't...it might help if you revealed it to the audience a little more obviously than they did.
It might also help if the male star talked in more than a monotone during the entire movie. Dermot Mulroney is teh hott...but that's all he is. I'm not sure he can act. At all. Since this is all I remember seeing him in.
Blah. I can only hope that "Hitch" is better.

Date: 2005-02-10 07:16 pm (UTC)"Lost" was awesome. Poor Charlie. He has...issues. I think he was right, though. Ethan wasn't going to tell them anything. He shouldn't have killed him like that, however; if he doesn't have psychological repercussions for doing that, I'm going to be a tad upset.
