Noodling this story.

I've just scribbled out nearly 250 words of things I'm considering for the cemetery story. None of it counts for "output," but it's helping me get more of a sense of who my guy is, what he wants out of life, and how he's going to obtain it. It's frontloading my time, but it's going to make the actual writing easier, once I sit down to do that.
And, yes, this totally counts as "writing." I'm actively thinking about the story, bouncing from one idea to the next. I'll need to do some research for this too.
And think more about where it actually takes place. I have the feeling that "small-town Wisconsin" would be a very different animal than "small-town Arkansas."
