Well. *blush* Ninety percent of it is "right place, right time," five percent of it is "framing the shot" and the other five percent is pure dumb luck and praying the camera focuses on the right spot. That grouse shot, for example: I took two, and the first one focused on the foliage in front of the bird instead of the bird. I have no idea what algorithm the thing uses to decide where it's going to focus but sometimes it drives me crazy. I shot hundreds of photos last weekend; you're seeing the exceptional ones.
