So, I left my computer running (as I do) and went to make dinner on Friday. When I came back, I had a black screen, and it wouldn't boot. AUGH. Naturally, this is a netbook with no built-in CD drive (I have an external drive), and thus the OS came in a partition--which was lost when I replaced the hard drive during the Great Crash.

Fortunately, I've got a friend with an XP CD, and he graciously loaned it to me Saturday afternoon so I could attempt to run the restore thingy. I finally got the thing to throw up a blue screen error code for long enough for me to actually write down what it was. Of course, the Hubby had to go to work on Saturday morning, taking the other computer with him for work-related stuff. But he came home this evening, Google is my very good friend, and I'm back up and running with (apparently) no data loss. *wipes brow*

How was your weekend?

My weekend was pretty good. My sister had knee replacement surgery on St. Pat's Day, and she came home on Saturday. Her PT starts later today, and she'll be undergoing PT every day for the next three months.

Also, I've been getting back into the writing thing. I hadn't written any fanfic in a while, so I'm currently writing a fanfic based on the film "Charlie Bartlett" (seems my fiction is heavily influenced by RDJ and his movies lately... lol!). The outline for the story is almost done, and once I've completed it, I'm going to set it aside and prepare myself to write a script. It'll be a challenge, but I'm looking forward to it.

So glad your computer woes weren't too bad overall.

Well, I watched the Congress of my country vote for a bill they didn't understand, know how much it will cost or how we will pay for it, or how it will effect the medical industry. Add in a great deal of chicanery, special deals, and add in the attitude that the Constitution is an optional document--that was traumatic.

Other than that, I had a wonderful time with my children at home for a visit.

I hate scares like that. Every time I get a Windows update it screws my netbook up something fierce.

Enhh. The usual. Managed to almost mistakenly kill off the characters in my D&D campaign because I'd misunderstood how a particular ability works. Played poker on Sunday and mistakenly folded the best hand. *headdesk*

Sounds like your weekend was worse, though. *sends good computer karma*
