My computer is back up and running smoothly.

Well. Mostly. For some reason, it doesn't like the wireless printer settings (or they don't like it). Something to do with the firewall? I have no idea how to go in and actually fix that. I'm using Avast, if anyone has any clues on that.

And I still can't find my Word CD. If I have to buy a new one, I'm going to be Very Put Out. I know I saw the thing, and not that long ago, too. I've torn the house apart, looking for it. Not enough, apparently. Dammit.

Get someone to make you a copy. You said you still have all the code numbers etc.

Yeah, I've got a network key. I just don't know anyone who has an old copy of Word 2000 lying around. Gaaaaaaaaaaah.

Did you download the newest printer settings? Every single time I've had a problem with a printer it's been the damn settings are old and I have to download a new set. You just set this up though. Maybe?

We have a firewall and wireless printing. They seem to play well with each other. Sorry, I am so not that helpful tonight.

I set it up before (like, two weeks ago) and it was fine, although I had a different virus scanner. I don't know, and I'm too tired to mess with it tonight.

I really have no earthly idea where it is, although I swear I saw it just the other day and thought "Huh, there's my Word CD."

I don't even know.

You can download the Word software directly from the Microsoft website if you have the key... and you MIGHT be able to get the key from them if it's not too old and you've registered it.

But 'mostly' is better than 'completely dead'. :) So yay for that!

If you can go into your virus scanner, check to see if it has your wireless printer marked in some way as 'bad'... it's possible. Or maybe you just need to mark it as 'safe'.

Do you have a direct link? Because I've been all over the MS download site and I can't find it. My bing-fu is weak, I guess...

Didn't realize I hadn't replied to this. On the left side bar, scroll down just a bit and it has the Office products listed by version. But I can only find updates. Arg. This is very frustrating. I downloaded my 2007 from the internetz!!
