agilebritA thousand words on the day and 47,500 words total. My weekly word count is going to be...interesting. Yes, that's a good word. I've managed to get over my 250 every day. Today was iffy and driving me crazy, until I figured out that I probably needed another botched seduction in there somewhere to bring home Ben's capitulation a little more forcefully. If she keeps throwing herself at his head and he keeps saying "no," then when he finally gives in to her prodding it's that much more poignant.
And then when he initiates it? Yeah.
I'm a horrible person. I think I've said this before.

I ADORE The Mentalist, And I had to download each episode to watch because my dad wanted to watch "Dancing with the Stars" (ugh, don't get me started) instead. Which means I'm buying the series when it comes out on DVD and we're dedicating two days to watching it ALL. They're gonna see Patrick buy Teresa a pony for her birthday, GODDAMMIT.
*ahem*
Otherwise... I wish they'd Simon Baker's movies got more attention (and he actually did more of them). Land of the Dead rocks to high heaven and is my favorite of all the Romero zombie flicks (mainly because he finally got enough money to do some really cool stuff), but no one watched The Lodger. In fact, I don't even think that made it to theaters—because I was all ready to go see it, and then I found the DVD at Best Buy.

The ep I was talking about was "Russet Potatoes," where Rigsby got hypnotised and tried to hurl Patrick from the roof. Jane panics before remembering he can mentalist his way out of it, and inside Rigsby's swimming fantasy yells, "SHARK!!"
It is one of a few standout examples of Patrick totally wimping when in imminent physical danger. Also, see finale for his feelings on guns.

And I don't care what anyone does, I do not ship Jane and Lisbon. They're both too broken, and she/he have a weird parental vibe going re: the rest of the team. She's like his sister or best friend or something. What sucks about Jane is that he's so closed off I don't think he'd LET anyone give him h/c sex. B'awwwww. Not to say I wouldn't read it, because I wouldn't(and don't) but I would, only if YOU wrote it.
CHO. CHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Sexy beast. I love him. He and Jane are the strongest two on that show, I think.
See what happens? "Omg DANGER." Then he remembers "oh I can probably talk my way outta this." I like that he's a wuss. Makes him vulnerable and not a garystu. His only real power is his mouth(mind), take that as you will ;D

Owain is funny, because he's Welsh so certain "American" words are hard on him. At first glance, you wouldn't think he wasn't American... I just remember first watching this show and going: "DUDE! He was that one Terminator from The Sarah Connor Chronicles! HE DUG A GUN OUT OF HIS LEG!"
I love it when they've got Rigsby, Patrick, and Cho all standing in a height line. It's like picking out the bars in a Cingular commercial. Also, I have a slight girl!crush on Van Pelt.
DVD is available for pre-order at AMAZON (best invention since the internet started). TVShowsOnDVD.com has its release as "pending." My best guess is August/September. Earlier would be nice.
I think a marathon is in order tonight. I've got all the episodes downloaded onto an external hard drive.
