He's just been half-drained by Angeline, who is trying to do him a favor by killing him (don't ask), and his sarcasm circuits are still firing.

He said earlier that they can take his sarcasm when they pry it from his cold, dead hands. He uses it as a defense mechanism, which he clearly needs in this horrific situation, and oh, god, but it's lovely.
