OMG, y'all. I was in Moab last week and missed out on three comics, and then two more came out this week.

I am holding in my formerly nicotine-stained fingers:

Angel: After the Fall #7
Buffy: Wolves at the Gate #14
Doctor Who #4
Everybody's Dead #3
Serenity #3

At this point in time, I haven't read any of the other Who comics and I'm debating if I want to wait until I have all six issues so I can marathon them. Everybody's Dead and Serenity are complete, and I can't wait to crack them open. Angel and Buffy, I'm reading as I get them, although Buffy is still kinda blah for me. However, it's vastly improved with the advent of Dracula, and the Faith arc is now available in a trade for $15 or so, well worth picking up if you haven't.

I will have reaction post(s) later, once I've read the ones I'm going to read.

I'm turning into a big ol' nerd, ain't I? Yeah, I realize I already was one...

I'm sort of thinking I might just wait on all of those (because at some point I want to read Buffy S8 and After the Fall once I'm done with the shows, and of course Serenity and the DW comics) until they're out and I can read them all at once, 'cause...considering how long you have to wait in between and how evil Joss is about cliffhangers, not sure I'd be able to stand it.

Although to be honest I'm not overly enthusiastic about Buffy S8 to begin with, largely because of the Buffy/Satsu storyline, which...I will probably rant about at length on my own LJ, but the short version is that while I wouldn't like it anyway, my main problem with it is that I pretty much became a hardcore Buffy/Angel fan in S1 or S2 and it would really, really suck if Angel got his Shanshu (whether he stays human throughout the rest of After the Fall or not) and then found out, sorry, Buffy likes girls now. I mean, if he really has to go that route with Buffy, Joss could at least make her bi...

Well, I'm not sure that Buffy really does "like girls" now. Seemed to me that it was more of an experiment that didn't quite work out, and she was rather freaked about the whole thing. I guess we'll see how it all pans out. The Buffy comics aren't as good, IMO, as the Angel ones. But then, I didn't think the Buffy show was as good as Angel either.

The four-issue Faith arc is most excellent, however, and I highly highly recommend it.

Yeah, that's more or less how I'm hoping it'll turn out...I only know what I've read on Wikipedia, although mostly what has me guessing it won't turn out the way I'd like is that Joss, in denying that Buffy/Satsu was a marketing ploy, said it was a logical step for the character to take based on previous stuff in the show. Which, okay, female empowerment, rah rah, but she's also had some pretty intense relationships with guys, and considering where they went with Willow, it'd be kind of disappointing if the BtVS canon started getting across a message that, basically, only lesbian women are really powerful.

Anyway. ;p Heh, I remember seeing one of the Faith issues in B&N long before I ever watched the show, when I didn't understand any of it, and thinking, Wow, who is this skank? Of course I also thought the picture of Buffy with the scythe on an earlier cover was weird too because she looked way too thin to hold that heavy a weapon so easily. Which made a lot more sense once I got some canon knowledge...

I'm thinking nerds run the world, so how bad can it be to be one? *thinks Bill Gates*
