tomorrow, to Arlington, TX, for an early Christmas with the family. I have no idea if I'll be able to keep up with the flist; internet access is usually spotty on these trips.

Since I've added a reporter to my story, I have to decide several things. What's her agenda? What story is she working on? How much are they going to tell her, and how much are they trying to hide? After all, as far as they know at the start, all they're doing is taking perfectly legal cargo to a monastery. It's not until later that they find out that, erm, they're in Trouble.

I'll be able to work on it on the plane. That's a good. I usually get some good stuff done on planes (the ReaverFic being an excellent example of that). Hopefully my laptop battery won't croak on me, although it's been pretty weak lately. Might be time for a new one.

These rambly little posts where I'm deciding what to do are actually my method of brainstorming when there's no Hubby around to bounce ideas off of. It's harder to bounce original fic than fanfic off on another person, because there's not that whole "shared world" thing going on.

I know. I do the same thing. To excess.

So: Who does she work for, this reporter? Is she a tool of PETA? Is she a foolish liberal, one who doesn't know anyone who doesn't drink darling little lattes and read the latest fashion-drivel with close attention? Is she a Nazi, spinning everything into the Party Line? (I'm thinking of the Babylon 5 episode, “The Illusion of Truth,” where the main characters learn what semantic bias and spin editing can do to twist a news story out of any truth, 60 Minutes-style…)

Or is she brand new to all this, and able to learn?
