He was shooting up the blood rather than drinking it because it keeps his dark side in check, don't you see? Or some such utter twaddle. They also need to 'splain why this particular vampire actually wants to keep his dark side in check? What makes him different? Whence the do-good conscience=y impulse?
And he never really had a "client" per se in this episode, unless you count Josef, but he was on it before Josef called him, so...what? He sees an internet newscast about a dead body and just randomly shows up? Why? Oh, I guess because this other girl he's been stalking following for 18 years since he rescued her from his Evil Ex™ did the broadcast? WEAK premise, guys.
Bad writing. I'll give it another couple of eps, but...it ain't promising.
