So...what exactly should they have done, then? Waited for a UN resolution condeming the rocket launches? THAT would have been real effective, and we'd still be waiting, because the UN doesn't give a crap about Israel and is, in most cases, actively hostile.
Dropping a nuke would have been an overreaction. The terrorists hide behind civilians because "civilized countries won't hit back if we're hiding behind innocents like the cowards we are." I'm sorry, that doesn't fly anymore. And maybe I'm cold-blooded about it, but I'm getting sick and tired of terrorists who target civilians and send their own children to pizza parlors with bombs strapped to them taking the moral high ground when a few of their innocents die because they got caught in the crossfire. I don't think that terrorists who target civilians get to get all indignant when the people they're hiding behind get hurt. This probably means that I'm not an especially good Christian, but I'm to the point where I can live with that.
