(no subject)

For some reason, I'm feeling a little overwhelmed by the scope of this project today. Which is ridiculous, because I hit today's goal yesterday.

But that's all I hit, and I only needed 800 words to do it. And it took all day.

Yes. I have hit the Great Swampy Middle, and lo, it is Great and it is Swampy. Even with an outline.

The good news is that I've got 8500 words. And I like this story. I might even finish it in under 17,000 words. So I guess that's something.

• Fri, 12:25: Need 800 words to have tomorrow's word count in the can. Anyone can do that. Right? RIGHT? It's only 300 more than my "normal."
• Fri, 12:29: Am holding in my formerly-nicotine-stained fingers a copy of Monster Hunter Legion by the handsome and hard-working @monsterhunter45. #YAY
• Fri, 12:53: And a diabolical piece of my plot just fell into place. HAH. Three of the Seven Deadlies hold pride of place in this. Heh, "pride."
• Fri, 13:27: Just realized I've got all of the Seven Deadlies but sloth working through this story. Not sure how I could fit that one in.
• Fri, 17:02: Oh, God, I think I just hit the Great Swampy Middle and ground to a halt. Someone toss me a rope?
• Fri, 20:20: Finally hit 8500 words on this thing. That puts me at tomorrow's goal. 900 more to my second goal. I can do that. Right?
