Beachcombing today...

Picked up some pretty pink barnacle shells for my bathroom, saw about three different species of jellyfish washed up on the beach, played with a teeny tiny hermit crab...

And saw some anemones washed up at the shoreline too.

At first I didn't know what they were, but they were squishy and moved when I poked them, and then I saw the orange thready tendrils. We're talking "hunter vest orange" here, not some wimpy fruit. That is a color I never expected to see in nature EVER.

It was VERY cool. Tomorrow, I shall wander along the beach carrying my camera instead of a bag for carrying shells.
