I shipped off the Sold Soul story to Writers of the Future today. Yes, I realize that the deadline isn't for another month and a half or so, but if I sent it elsewhere and it actually sold, then I'd be stuck for the third quarter in a row with no entry (or scrambling trying to write something on the fly), so...yeah. Off it goes, and now I don't have to think about it for awhile.
I'm reading a book I found via PubRants that may be Relevant to Your Interests, o flist. It's called "Soulless," by
gailcarriger, and it combines steampunk, vampires, and werewolves into a Victorian comedy of manners that is absolutely brilliant. You can read the first few pages here.
In fact, do it now, I'll wait. Go on, you know you want to.
Back? Isn't that DELICIOUS? And the rest of it continues on in that vein. I'm so glad I found something to carry me through until
robgoodfella's new book comes out in a couple of weeks. It has me giggling like a madwoman.
