agilebrit: (Trust your crazy ideas)
Today, I have:
  • Angsted about my rejection from Writers of the Future
  • Gotten over it
  • Printed out the BeagleFic for submission to Fantasy and Science Fiction
  • Decided that the CatFeet fic is going to Weird Tales
  • Bought more envelopes so I have them handy for snail mail submissions
  • Addressed and stuffed one for F&SF
  • Discovered that I have PLENTY of mailing labels and thus my decision not to blow $3 on more was a good one
  • Created a spreadsheet for my fiction subs
  • Discovered, upon doing so, that the BeagleFic has now been rejected five times
  • Angsted about that
  • Brightened considerably upon realizing that only one of those rejections was on the revised and considerably improved version
  • Put my original fic in its own folder on my desktop
  • Backed it up into its own thumb drive

And now I need to wrestle with the CatFeet fic a little more. It feels done to me, but I dunno...

Which is also, you know, the way I'm feeling today, because...

YAY!

We're going to Moab for the Jeep Safari tomorrow.

This means, of course, that I have a crapload of things to do.

  • Pack
  • Laundry
  • Bank
  • Post Office, so I can pay for the eBay auction I sniped to within an inch of its life last night, and also ship off the BeagleFic to F&SF
  • Eye appointment, which I have at 3:20 and really need because I really should have done that last year
  • Set up the VCR to tape the shows we're going to miss
  • Clean the kitchen so we don't come home to ickiness
  • Set the cats up
  • Do my nails so they're not freakishly long
  • Make sure the trash goes out tonight Which turned out to be useless, because they hadn't picked it up by the time we left.
  • Ask the Hubby if the campground allows dogs Checked the website. "Leashed friendly pets welcome."

I'm sure I'm forgetting something. I'm positive of it. *flails*

The good news is that we actually got a spot in a campground for Tues-Thurs, and they have wi-fi. Also, a change of scenery generally shakes something or other loose, writing-wise.

Also?

I LOVE MOAB. We didn't go last year for various reasons (probably a good thing, because the Hubby opened up his rear pumpkin on the Willys and discovered a big ol' scary CRACK in part of the housing), and I missed it.

So. I may be out of LJ for a week or so, depending.
