Sticking a "the end" at the bottom of a 6500-word story, revisiting it a couple of days later, and deciding it's horrid.
Not only is it horrid, but it can't really be entered in this quarter's WotF, because they take "sci-fi, fantasy, and dark fantasy," and it's the stretchiest of stretches to call the thing "dark fantasy." So now I'm stuck either waiting for Renard's Menagerie or Strange Horizons to reject one of the other two stories...or banging out something that'll work within less than a week.
Yeah, good luck with that.

ETA: This is not the cue for everyone on the Concrit List to slobber all over it and tell me how wonderful it is. 'Kay?
