Note to self: When shredding carrots with the salad shooter, it is not strictly necessary to shred more than one carrot at a time. I will now attempt a carrot cake. From scratch. Pray for me.

The grocery store had a toy special last night. They had 100-piece puzzles for $2, so I grabbed one for Da Boy. Got it out for him today. And he did it all by himself. Age the box says this is appropriate for? Five and up. Age of Da Boy? Three and three-quarters.

We watched the BBC version of "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" last night on DVD. The Beavers get my vote for Worst. Costume. EVER. Aslan? Was apparently two men in a lion suit. The animation was cheesy and horrid. The sets sucked. And the acting was incredibly overblown, especially whoever played the Witch. She was apparently absent the day they taught "subtlety" in acting class.

And yet...and yet...

Even with all that, it still managed to be okay. The source material rose above this terrible adaptation of it. I would love to see what a modern studio with real money (this was made in 1988, but, you know, BBC = apparently low budget), with people who could act, and FX people who knew their stuff, could do with it. Pixar would so make a version of it that rocked. I'm not holding my breath.

Writing? What is this "writing" of which you speak? I got nothin'.

Oh, hey, remember the seller on eBay who relisted "Carpe Jugulum" and had me end the new listing? Got the book in the mail yesterday, as described, and she's left me positive feedback for both transactions. I am now a happy camper. :-)

"House" is on tonight. Yay! And "Lost" is on tomorrow. Yay again!

That is all.
