Well, I began coming down with a horrible head cold yesterday. Today, full-blown, stuffy sinuses, sneezing, headache, eyes bugging me, whole nine yards. Ugh, I feel horrible. Yeah, it's just a cold, and maybe I shouldn't be whining about it, but it's been ages since I've been sick, so, yeah, milking it. Sue me.

It snowed today. I hate snow. Especially snow before November, although living in the Beautiful Salt Lake Valley ®, I suppose I should expect it. We've had rain for just about the last week straight now. Guess the drought is about broken, which is good. Just...snow. Before November. Good for the ski resorts. Bad for driving around.

Which I had to do today. Twice. Went to the bank to make a deposit because I found a copy of "Escape from the Icecap" on ABE for $16 (with shipping) that I wanted to grab. I'd done a little online shopping this weekend because my dearth of Pratchett is making me suffer horrible withdrawal symptoms, but when I made the deposit (at the drive-through, because I didn't want to go outside my car in the snow), I looked at my balance and thought "Erm, that's not right." Of course, I didn't do that until I got home, so back out into the snow (did I mention big fat huge flakes? And not just the flake that's me) and to the branch I thought wasn't closing until November. Well, I was wrong, and it's closed NOW. So, I hied me over to another branch and went inside and got a printout.

Turned out to be Da Boy's fault. He's the one that forced me to go to Wally World last Tuesday and buy "Garfield." I'm sure he's the cause of me forgetting to write down in my checkbook that I'd put the purchase on my debit card. Must be. LOL Anyway, the deposit is made, and my account is not upside down, as it would have been had I not decided that I really needed "Escape from the Icecap" in my book collection right the heck now. *wipes brow*

I've basically been camped out the couch today (after all that crap this morning). Reading "It's Got to Be Perfect" by [livejournal.com profile] speakr2customrs, and enjoying it immensely. Will watch football tonight (Go Broncos!) and hopefully be able to put Da Boy to bed without too much wrangling. He's been sent to his room about four times today because I'm not putting up with loud screechy whining while I'm sick.

Fic? I've stared at my latest MustardVerse effort a few times. Opened a FicBlank and looked at that. Thought about drabbling; need to have a look at the extant challenges. Got a little plot bunny for the [livejournal.com profile] open_on_sunday Playing challenge with the Fanged Four, only it's just Darla and Angelus playing tic-tac-toe in blood on the back of a victim (day-um, I scare myself sometimes; where does something like that come from? Ugh). Yeah. Going to look at challenges again. Maybe I'll have something by the end of the night.

"We've played to a draw again," Darla pouted. "No one ever wins this game."

Angelus drew a fresh grid on the girl's bare back, using a knife this time. "Your turn to go first." He licked the blade, smiling, while their bound and gagged victim moaned on the floor.

"What are you two doing?" Spike asked from across the room, idly toying with Dru's hair. They'd already eaten.

Darla drew an "X" in the center square with her sharpened nail, baring her teeth as the blood oozed from the wound.

"They're playing tic-tac-toe with their food. Naughty, naughty," Dru giggled.
