The Seattle trip is set. Went through Hotwire and got a room at the Airport Radisson for two nights and a rental car for three days for $270. We're listed on the flight that gets in at 9:30am, and I've set our itinerary thusly:

Friday: Woodland Park Zoo.
Saturday: Whale watching.
Sunday: Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium, then home.

Somewhere in there, we're going to hit the Space Needle (either Friday or Saturday night); there's a bookstore or three I'd like to visit, and *gasp* there's a shop in the Pike Place Market that sells Oaxacan carvings.

Heh. I'm not sure that a proper Seattle trip is one that can be done in two and a half days. I wanted three full days plus another half day, but Hubby wanted a day for cushion, since he has to work on Tuesday. I can see his point, since flying standby is always an iffy proposition, but...poo. LOL Oh well. It'll save me money.

After checking the laws about child seats in Washington State, I'm thinking it may be best to bring Da Boy's seat with us. I'm not sure that one is included in our car rental--although I suppose a phone call could clear that up rather quickly. Guess I should do that--and then I can ask them how much extra it will be, and see if the Hubby wants to spend the money or drag the seat along, which is a pain in the butt.

In other news, I'm just about done with my ficathon entry, and I rather like the way it's shaping up. Anyone wanna give me a quick beta on it? It's a Wes and Illyria piece (no 'ship, just them interacting), with Spike in there too. I'll hopefully have it done tonight or tomorrow.
