The Seattle Trip....
Aug. 21st, 2004 07:02 pmLooks like it's a go. Hubby was balking at the thousand-dollar price tag for the weekend (just for airfare, hotel, and car rental). We've had kind of crappy luck trying to non-rev, so he wanted to try buying a ticket. Then we checked prices, and he was all "yikes." So, I did a bit of research, found out that we can make a phone call and not actually have to talk to anyone to find out what the loads are, and made the call for a flight to Seattle. At this point, it's totally wide open, so he's resting a little easier. He's going to call the Travel Dept on Monday to find out what we need to do to get tickets (seems like it changes every time we try), and the price tag without the airfare went from $1000 to under $300. Of course, that doesn't include food, the Space Needle, or the whale-watching, but still much better.
I got an email back from the whale watching company already, telling me that a day trip from Seattle is definitely doable, so that'll be neat. They guarantee whales, and this is something I've wanted to do for a long time--in fact, it's on my "List of Things to do Before I Die."
So. Neato.
