Well, I've pretty much got everything done I need to do before WriterCon. All I have to do, really, is get a couple more things staged for packing, cash in my coins at the bank (I rolled them today--it's amazing how much you can amass when you're concentrating on not spending them), get some road munchies, and gas up the car. The lovely and effulgent jerib_78 and I will be heading out tomorrow evening, if all goes well, and should hit Vegas around three or four in the morning.

appomattoxco, I'll try to get at least ch8 of "Bunny" done before I leave. I think I've actually got most of it, so it shouldn't take long for a final spit & polish.

::bouncing:: I'm so excited about WriterCon! ::staring wrathfully at three ornery WIP's:: After this conference, I'll know how to get them to behave. I hope.

ETA: I just opened my You Got the Stones challenge fic. You know, the one I've got 3000 words written on? And the formatting is completely and utterly screwed up. I have no idea what happened, but there are, like tabs and stuff where there shouldn't be any, and the letters are individually widely spaced apart. *sob* I have no idea if or whether I can fix it.

ETA again: I was able to copy & paste it from WordPerfect (calling it "WordLessThanPerfect" for now, until I figure out just what the hell is going on here) into WordPad, and that formatted okay. But when I tried to copy and paste it back into a blank WP doc, it gave me the same screwy formatting. This is completely bizarre. I hope someone at WriterCon can help me with this, because I'm completely thrown for a loop here.

ETA yet again: I closed WordPerfect completely and then reopened it, and now the fic is fine. So, I don't know what it didn't like before, but it's okay now. ::whew::

I can't believe I got everything done with a couple of hours to spare. The car is packed, everything's loaded but the Diet Code Red and my computer, and I'm stoked. Road munchies, check; road atlas, check; aggressively unfashionable clothes, check. What's that you say? No, I'm not obsessed with my dog breed, not at all. It's just easier to pack jewelry when you only have to pack one kind. I broke down and tried my dresses on last night and picked one that I can actually move in, although the other one is prettier and more Dru-like. Can't have everything, I suppose. I was going to pack makeup (which I haven't worn in, like, years)--and then I had the evil thought that my mascara is probably a solid lump in the bottle. So, makeup, back in the drawer. My face will be naked for this. Heh. They should be happy I'm actually putting a dress on for the cocktail party.

Hubby has the phone number for the hotel and feeding instructions for the cats. Went grocery shopping last night, so he and Da Boy shouldn't starve. This will be my first vacation alone since Da Boy was born. I'll miss them both...but it'll be good to get away for awhile.

I keep having the nagging feeling that I'm forgetting something, but that's probably just nerves talking. The lovely jerib_78 will be here in a couple of hours, and we'll drive down together.

I am sooooo stoked about this.
