Hm. Movies again.
Mar. 31st, 2004 12:39 pmWe went and saw "50 First Dates" last night, as part of a double feature at the drive-in (with "Secret Window," which Hubby wanted to see). And you know...that does it for me for Adam Sandler movies. It could have been really special. What was it instead? Crude and meh. I'm sorry, maybe I'm a dinosaur, but I don't think that jokes about marijuana and steroid use are funny. People destroy their lives using that stuff. One or two, I might have tolerated, but it was constant throughout the film, and not only was it not funny, it was boring. Comedies should not be boring.
And hey, Sean Astin? Dude, you're better than that. You played Samwise Gamgee, man. You don't need to play a musclebound, lisping, steroid addict in an Adam Sandler movie.
