Well. I don't know if anyone (except Aeneas) read the commentary for Ch8 or not, since no one said anything about it...but I did the commentary for Ch9 at about the same time, and I don't have anything else to rant about today, so here goes:

I did two this week, because I'm sick and tired of writing angst, and that's the first one that came out. So I did a schoompy one too.

Both are rated G. No real spoilers, unless you haven't seen Season 6 of Buffy or Season 5 of Angel.

Title: Doorway
Pairing: Buffy/Spike

His crypt was always open to her. She realized that. And yet...she hesitated. Leaning on the cold stone for a moment, touching it with a gloved hand, feeling his presence as he came toward her. She knew when he pressed his body against the door, knew when he put his hand on the same spot hers rested on.. But this--this was wrong. All kinds of wrong. And they were both aware of that uncomfortable fact. He wouldn't stop it. That meant she had to.

She walked away into the gloom of the graveyard. Not tonight, Spike. Not tonight.

Title: The Door to Her Heart
Pairing: Spike/Fred

Fred twitched when she turned and saw Spike in the lab. How did he move so silently? He gave her that devastating smile and head tilt of his, asked how her day was going. He was corporeal, and he didn't really need to come around anymore, but she was surprised at how often he still did. To hang out with...her? But why? Guys like Spike didn't notice girls like her. Except, he was. And he turned on the charm, although she wasn't working on his case anymore.

And she felt the doorway to her heart open, just a little.
