I know there's some icon makers with some mad skilz on my flist, and they need to go join illyria_still now so we can, like, start having a weekly challenge. The mods don't want to start up until we have ten members, and we have eight. catvampcrazines and alliterator, I'm looking at you, specifically. spikesloveslave, you're probably quite busy what with the job and the puppy and the new place and the comms you're already modding, but I'm sure they'd love to have you too. :-)

Anyone else on my flist, PSP8 is going on eBay right now for $22 plus shipping, so if you want to get in on the icon-making fun, go forth and grab it. It's not Adobe PhotoShop, but it's not $700 either. It's what I use, and it comes with Animation Shop, and I like it quite a bit.

In other news, I'm actually chugging along quite well with my Fred ficathon entry, and, a thousand words in, I have actual plot and a way of working it into the episode it takes place in, so, go, me! *coughs* Of course, most of the fic has focused on Spike up to this point rather than Fred, but she's in the first scene, and he's doing something specifically for her in the third, and the second scene covers one of the requests for the fic...

Yeah, I'm making excuses. *hangs head* I admit it, I just can't help myself.

question (that I was gonna ask before you ETA'd me into the end of your post) - does PSP8 have anything spectacular over PSP7? b/c I'm not willing to shell out any $$$ to upgrade/get new copy if there's nothing special... ;0)

Having never used PSP7, I don't know the answer to that question. Sowwy. :-( But I really really like it. I don't know if 7 has that nifty "browse effects" thing that I used to make my last "Lost" icon or not *still slobbers over that one and can't wait to trot it out* but I imagine it probably does.

They may provide caps or quotes as part of the challenge posts; that's how most comms do it. So...you wouldn't neccesarily HAVE to go hunting them. And Illyria was only in six eps anyway, so that cuts down on the work. ;o)
