*growls*

Barbara Walters just made me yell at my TV.

She was talking about Mary Kay Letourneau and her "love affair" with a twelve-year-old student.

NEWSFLASH, Barbara. That wasn't a freaking "love affair." That was a MOLESTATION. I don't care if the boy is 21 now and they want to get married. He was TWELVE FUCKING YEARS OLD. If some damb teacher got PREGNANT from having SEX with my TWELVE YEAR OLD CHILD, TWICE, I'd want her to spend a hell of a lot longer than just seven lousy years in prison.

Yes. I am aware that I'm yelling. I am aware that some may find this entry controversial. I don't fucking care. It's not many things that make me drop f-bombs. News reporters practically endorsing child molestation by calling it a "love affair" is one.

Holy CRAP.

Amen!

The fact that this woman gets any sympathy at all is beyond me. If a male teacher had done the same to a twelve-year-old girl, he'd rightly be called a monster. I don't see how LeTourneau is any different.

I don't either. The hypocrisy is staggering. Any respect I ever had for Barbara Walters' journalistic integrity just went flying out the window at warp 12. She's obviously retiring far too late.

Er...*nervously pats agilebrit on back* There, there. Breathe. We all know it was a molestation. Bad teacher! [No, seriously, that's just creepy that a teacher would do that. God, if one of my teachers...*shudder*]

On a sidenote, it's Barbara Walters's birthday. I read it in Today's Birthdays in the newspaper a few minutes ago, heh. Will Smith's birthday, too. And some other celebrity's, but I don't remember who.

*still steaming* Yeah, we all know it was a molestation. The news media, which has its collective head so far up its ass that it thinks the world is supposed to smell like that, is another matter.

This is how the culture gets lost. Prominent people start sugar-coating things like molestation, and twenty years down the road, it's just another "lifestyle choice"--as long the the child "consents," of COURSE.

Argh.

Yeah, it IS sick. Just as the thought of it makes me want to puke. The kid was 12! I just don't see any way to justify that.
