Well. I just did a drabble-and-a-half. Another post-Not Fade Away thing. With Buffy. And the ending...is such a copout. I know I could blame it on the length limitations, but that's not it. The thing is, I really have no idea how our heroes win their battle, or even if they do. And if they do, and Buffy came back, which one would she choose? And would the one she chose want her?

Blah. Too many questions.

I tend to agree. Somehow I always see Buffy and Angel ending up together(just my own romantic view, but there ya go..) And yes, they survived...they just did.

I guess my perspective comes from getting into the show late, after Angel left for LA. I didn't start watching until Season 4 (although I'm playing catch-up now, and I've read all the transcripts), so I missed all the romance and "true-love-we're-soulmates" stuff that happened in previous seasons. I know about it, but I don't feel it, if you know what I mean. Plus I've got this huge soft spot for Spike, and he's been hurt enough, dammit.

[see drabble above] See, I've seen a bunch of post-NFA fics where exactly that happens. And, no offense to anyone who's done one of those, but I think having a Slayer ex machina cheapens Angel's efforts, and makes it about the Slayers, and not about him. YMMV, of course, but I've been trying to figure out how he does it without magic and coming up pretty blank.

Of course, I haven't been spending a lot of time actually sitting here and thinking about it, either. [grin]

yeah but were you to put it from the point of view that he really doesnt care about who gets the bad guy as long as it gets got then it makes sense for him to cvall on anyone and everyone to take down the bad guys

Hm. I guess it would be different if he called them, rather than just having them ride in to the rescue because they heard something big was going down.

I'll have to think about it some more. And since I've got nothin', fic-wise, I'll have plenty of time to do that. *grump*

Well, I finally got *something*...honorh requested an OBAFU or Dawn fic for her birthday. And since I got snacked on by a Turok-Han at OBAFU a couple of chapters ago, I figured I was entitled to some face time with my favorite vampire. [grins] Of course, he's not very happy with me...but hey. I got to gaze upon the hotness that was Spike.

I believe they all survived too....I just don't know how. [weighing] Four people / demon army. Odds = bad. Especially for Gunn.

Maybe I'll just post the "drabble" part and leave off the "half." I think it might be better that way.

Honestly, after seeing "End of Days" and re-reading the transcript of "Chosen," I don't know who she'd pick. I've been pretty bitter about the way she treated Spike through Seasons 5 & 6, and I'm not sure she actually deserves him...but it would hurt him if she chose Angel instead of him, and I don't want to see him hurt.

That being said--is it just me, or is there a shippy vibe between him and Illyria? That might be a good way to solve it.

actually theoretically Gunn has the best chance of living the night out as he will be under3estimated and as he is already wopunded the demons are going to tend to discount him as a threat andf thus he will have an advantage and with Illyria there there is an easy way to beat the bad guys - if I were angel i woudl ahve a spell ready that Wes had put on Illyria in those last minutes of touching without her knowing which will cause her to expell and expend all ehr might in one powerful blast rendering her as fully human - illyria still but human and kill the demons.

I have a really hard time believing that Angel just went into that battle with no contingency plans whatsoever.
