Stop me...

Before I upload again!

In an experiment to see how far GJ will take their photo album policing, I've uploaded a bunch of pix I've taken and credited myself with my actual name.

Before you click the link, those of you who are snake-a-phobic should know that it wouldn't be one of mine if there weren't snakes in there. However, there are also tigers, toucanets, a red river hog (most marvelous of pigs!), butterflies, and, of course...an anteater. Because, duh.

Now, understand, I should be writing. I have this hum-dinger of an idea that I really should be getting down on the screen. That being said, I'd forgotten I'd taken half these pix, and going through them and doing the crop/enhance thing is something that's needed to be done for a long time. What I should really do is take one folder at a time and just DO it, one a day, until they're done. *snorts* Like that'll happen. I have, literally, hundreds to go through.

Okay. *goes back to staring at fic*

Photo hosting also. Oh, really. I wonder what the TOS is.

I've been using Photobucket for most things, Tinypic for the quicky stuff I don't necessarily want cluttering up "albums." It would be interesting if...

I'll have to take a look.

They have to be personal pictures, not obviously photoshopped or manipped. And I believe they have to be actual pictures, rather than art. Here's the rules.

Yeah... Not worth it. Too much of what I have, falls afoul of too many of their rules, this one or that one. So far as I can see, even Photobucket is more tolerant. And if, for some reason, I feel a need to post a picture of some little beach stukkie at Plettenberg Bay during die Rage, the Spring Break of the Antipodes, where she probably hasn't worn a stitch for days... I don't need to get banned for doing so. There are servers I can use for that.

I think InsaneJournal is a lot more lax about this sort of thing, but I haven't investigated for myself...

That looks like a fun place. I wish them well, but I'm not interested. Believe it or not, I'm not a champion blogger - I post a lot of twiddle, as you well know, but I'll never be a Big Noise in The Blogosphere.

No, I have friends here - good friends, and thank you, Julie - and I'm content to potter about. I'll keep the flag flying over at GreatestJournal, because I may yet have call to use it for something, but that's about it.

Those are gorgeous - meerkats! panda! cheetahs! otters! OMG - Squee and other excited noises!

Course GJ know your real name - wonder if they'll bother looking?

Basically, if you upload an image of a celebrity or a person who isn't you, you can be banned. If it's altered to look like some character in X-Men for an RPG, you can be banned. If you upload a comic book related image, you can be banned.

I didn't realize that a while back, and every account I have over there is now banned from ever uploading another image to their albums.

They're very strict, and you don't get a warning, basically.
