Well, that was a quick rejection.

But hey, crit from an editor, which I will duly take into consideration and possibly re-write the story a little. I have inquired as to whether they'd be interested in seeing it again if I expanded it; we'll see what he says. ETA: And he says he'd love to see the story again. *grins maniacally*

Because, you know, I don't have enough on my writing plate as it is. But it might be a fun exercise, and hey. Werewolf fiction, so my head's still In The Game.

I thought of a slight addendum to the scene I'm working on, a tiny detail which makes the thing just that much more horrifying. *evil laughter* I'm a bad person.

Well, that's something...

The latest Writers of the Future posting of Honorable Mentions does not have my name on it. Nor do I have a "YOU LOSER" letter in my mailbox.

Of course, I don't have a "we got your entry" letter in my email inbox either. So, yeah, I don't even know, but wish me luck. They keep saying they don't get enough humor. I have a gnome named Gnorman in that story. What's not to love about that?

Four people from Utah on the last Hon Mention list. UTAH REPRESENT YO. That's over ten percent of the list. We're not that big a state, but we do have a lot of SF/F writers here.

*dies laughing*

I was poking around the interwebs, as I do, doing some desultory research. Plugged "exit wound 9mm" into the Google Image Search engine.

Oh, hey. That's me, right there on the very first page (Warning: There's some fairly horrific stuff there, click at your own risk, because I don't use SafeSearch, like, at all). Apparently my "wank" tag has the entry in which I'm looking for (you guessed it) 9mm exit wounds. Which it turned out I didn't actually need.

I don't think I've ever turned myself up in a random search like that before. Wild.
